The Heart and Sound of Out of the Blue
MAESTRO |
REPETITEUR
One of the most arduous jobs in musical theatre belongs to the repetiteur who effectively recreates the orchestration of the show on piano during rehearsals. GEM HARDING (foreground) and GREG AGAR have made significant contributions to Out of the Blue in this role. On more than one occasion GEM played the entire score of "Les Miserables" during rehearsals for the show - a feat worthy of the highest praise. Three cheers for repetiteurs! |

MUSICIANS
Out of the Blue aims to
develop skills in young performers by providing opportunities for them to
play together
and also work alongside professionals.
The standard of musicianship is exceptionally high in Out of the Blue and
can be attributed to the consistency in the make up
of the orchestra from production to production, which is largely a sign of
the measure of esteem that all our musicians have for
musical director, David Kalman.
Many of the musicians
who play with Out of the Blue have been involved in the organisation since
its inaugural production,
JC Superstar, in 2000.
